Hong Kong Careers Guide

We constantly seek career opportunities for our ambitious members at a global scale

CLSS proudly presents the Hong Kong Careers Guide (August 2024). We endeavour to inform all University of Sydney law students of the international opportunities that will allow them to embark upon a long and fruitful career in Law.

Hong Kong is the gateway between Asia and the rest of the world. Its common law system underpinned by the rule of law and its geographic location make the harbour city one of the world’s most dynamic legal markets. For Australia-trained law graduates, it is a city full of potential. Regardless of one’s background, Hong Kong always welcomes commercial-minded lawyers and entrepreneurs to define an era of their own.

This booklet will guide you through the general recruitment process for a career in Greater China Region. We also hope to expand our Guide each year to cater to your professional ambitions, and encourage you to use this knowledge to “Think Global” and pursue your own unique career goals.

USYD Chinese Law Students Society acknowledges the traditional custodians of this land, the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation.

The University of Sydney is on the sovereign land of these people. As students, we recognise our complicity in the ongoing colonisation of Indigenous land. In recognition of our privilege, we vow to not only include, but to prioritise and centre the experiences of Indigenous people, and to be reflective when we fail to be a counterpoint to the racism that plagues the mainstream media.
