We are the first quasi-academic journal in Australia, which is entirely run by students of Asian backgroundThe Gavel is a flagship publication of the Chinese Law Students Society ('CLSS') at the University of Sydney Law School. Founded in 2013, The Gavel was a bi-monthly newsletter covering legal digests and commentaries. It has been transformed into a quasi-academic law journal since 2016, providing a platform for students of culturally diverse background to actively participate in contemporary legal discussions. It aims to provide a platform for culturally diverse law students to actively participate in contemporary legal discussions. The Gavel focuses on trending issues that impact on the legal landscape of countries in Asia Pacific region. We publish annually in both printed and electronic forms, usually in late November to early December. The Gavel adopts a double-blind peer review process and accepts a wide range of original submissions on a rolling basis. Please refer to the 'Submit' section to understand our submission requirement. The Gavel Contribution Award The Gavel Contribution Award will be given to the author of the best submission annually. Published submissions will be automatically considered for this award. Submissions are primarily accessed by the Editorial Board. The winner will receive monetary prize. |
